Little Steps
Pediatric Physical Therapy

Serving the Physical Therapy Needs of Children
in their Natural Environment.

“There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child CAN do instead of what they cannot do.”

— Dr. Temple Grandrin

A Physical Therapist’s
Role in Child Development

As a physical therapist, I have extensive knowledge in overall gross motor development. I am trained to assess your child’s strength, flexibility, range of motion, posture, gait, sensory processing, balance, and coordination. As a parent or caregiver, you play an essential role in your child’s development. I respect that you know your child best, so after evaluating your child I will work and problem solve with you to find ways to enhance your child’s developmental skills. I will provide you detailed guidance on building motor skills one step at a time in order to reach the goals you have for your child. Throughout your child’s treatment, I will offer strategies on incorporating these new skills into your routines, including how to adapt various toys for play, and ways to position your child during daily activities that will help your child move and explore his or her environment while encouraging proper alignment and promoting development.

School-Age Children

Guidance and Support to help your child feel capable and strong.

No matter if your child is recovering from a sports injury, or is wanting to be able to better participate in school activities with their peers, Little Steps will be with you and your child every step of the way. By targeting strength, coordination, and endurance for movement I will help increase your child’s overall self esteem, and their motivation to engage in physical, social, and community activities.
